Bio

is an Austrian sociologist and feminist self-defence trainer. She has been working for the primary prevention of gender-based violence for over 25 years, training more than 5000 women, girls, LGBTQIA+ people and professionals. Her manual “Non c’est non: petit manuel d’autodéfense à l’usage de toutes les femmes qui en ont marre de se faire emmerder sans rien dire” (No means no: little self-defence manual for all women who are sick and tired of getting pissed off without answering back) has become a feminist classic in French-speaking Europe. In addition of a Magistra in sociology from the University of Vienna, she holds a Master in Woman and Child Abuse Studies from London Metropolitan University. In her current PhD research at Université libre de Bruxelles, she examines the relationship of violence and masculinities.
